Back in New York - Thor memoir update

As I settle back into daily life in upstate New York, I have created a new writing space for myself, in the room I call my library. I purchased a 32” monitor, found my mouse, and will continue where I left off in Norway 3 weeks ago. I now have 7 chapters, and a work-flow for the memoir that makes sense.

One thing I have learned is persistence - especially when it comes to trusting my gut and continuing to ask for documents from various sources, even when they say they have no more information. After writing 3 emails over the course of several months, I finally received an answer to a question I had asked Norges Bank; to please supply the full names (first and last) of all the Norges Bank employees who had participated in the Gold Transport. This morning I finally got a document with all the names of Thor’s colleagues who had accompanied the gold out of Norges Bank’s Oslo main branch. I will post this list at a later date, after I have had a chance to review and do some additional research on the names included.

Note: The photo above (from the Digital Archive shows some Norwegian patrol forces and the trucks used during the war. I assume that many of the trucks used for the transport of gold were similar to these.
